Techniques Available To The Business Analyst

Marketing and Advertising No Comments

The business analyst will utilize many tools when scoping out a project proposal. He or she may use basic, intermediate, or advanced techniques. Each company project proposal will be different. Similarities may occur allowing the business analyst to use past experience to implement a business plan.

Techniques Available to the Business Analyst
Different businesses will demand varied techniques to implement a project proposal. If there is a company newsletter detailing IT production, this will help a business analyst with his or her research. Data collection can come from many sources. The news letter may give an insight into what the company is struggling with or trying to accomplish. A blog or website can also provide this information.

Financial statements will allow the business analyst to examine past successes and failures of the company. Statistics can be gathered which will inform the analyst of strategies used in the past. This will help in calculating risk assessment. The financial software available on today’s market will allow the business analyst to establish where financial results can be improved.

The business analyst has the ability to utilize a feedback survey to determine specific needs of the company. Simple questionnaires can pinpoint management strategies and performance as well as give an employee and outside sourcing analysis. Added to information already gathered, the business analyst can compile a project program for acquiring higher profit margins and reaching set goals.

Business Analyst
The certified analyst will take into consideration the cost of a project. At times the company can be spending money where it is not necessary. This is also true with project programs. A good business analyst will determine necessary needs and strive to keep project program costs within a set guideline.

The best technique a business analyst can use is creativity. Let them think outside the box. Allow the freedom of expression to flow freely. The business analyst is a creative do-er. Let them do what comes naturally. A true business analyst will create a project program as though it were a work of art. This is the parental instinct coming out. The technique is to develop the “baby” and nurture it into something workable. As with any great thing, an artist will look at all aspects to determine what will make a good model and a good subject.

Mastering Productivity By Reviewing Your Time

Marketing and Advertising No Comments

To become more productive in your business, you must first take note of how you are currently spending the majority of your time.

What matters is how productive you are. It doesn’t matter how much time you spend working on your business, if you’re not doing the things that really matter, you’re just wasting your time.

You can spend hours of time visiting various sites, spying on your competitors, reading different articles or blog posts, and researching the forums to see what people have to say about specific topics related to your market, but this type of activity, in and of itself, isn’t productive.

It doesn’t matter where you spend the majority of time, write down every little thing you do with your time. Include the amount of time spent on those activities, so you can begin the process of cutting unnecessary activities from your life.

Do you get caught in the “OCD Loop?”

The OCD Loop involves a phenomenon among many Internet marketers where they exhibit a form of obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD) in the way that they are obsessive about following a specific sequence of actions repeatedly throughout the day, in many cases.

What a lot of marketers will do before they take action on anything truly productive for their businesses is to start off by checking their email, where they take the time to read various emails, reply to emails, and even decide to write new emails because of something that reminded them to do so in another email.

Then, once they finish checking their email, maybe they decide to jump over to check out Google Analytics or another web stats program to see what type of traffic their sites have received, or maybe they login to their shopping cart to check out the details of any orders that may have been placed.

Once they’ve reviewed their latest conversion rates, opt-in percentages, and so on, they may surf over to their favorite discussion forums or blogs that they read on a regular basis to do some research on their target market, or even to other sites like CNN or ESPN to check out the latest news or sports scores.

Then, the amazing thing that happens after they’ve checked out all of the sites that they are accustomed to visiting, is they decide to check out their email, again, to see if they’ve received anything new that might interest them.

When they’re finally done checking their email a second time and visiting all of the sites they found promoted within those emails, they jump back over to their stats program, again, to see how things are going with their websites.

If you’re really honest with yourself, you need to ask yourself how often you actually allow yourself to fall into this OCD Loop, and fail to stay focused on doing the things that bring money into your business.

How to Understand Promotional Umbrellas Properly

Marketing and Advertising No Comments

Promotional umbrellas are one of the largest promotional products that you might be considering. They have an excellent area for printing onto and can be bright, eye-catching and extremely useful.

From giving them out to leaving them around where people might be able to use them if they wish to, here’s some ways to put them to use.

1) If your shop has an outdoor area, or trading with you involves stepping out of the door, why not leave a few printed umbrellas by the door. Not only will customers be pleased that they were sheltered from the rain whilst visiting you, if any accidentally go missing, they are carrying your advert around for you.

2) Certain sporting events, especially golf, have spectators and competitors hanging around in the open for long periods of time. You only need to look at the stands around a golf course during a major tournament and if it is windy, people have their golfing umbrellas open to block the wind - with the logos facing outwards for all to see. On very hot days, other people will use the umbrellas to shelter from the heat of the sun - it’s not just on rainy days that the umbrellas are used. Sell the umbrellas cheaply if the weather looks bad or give them out to anyone who will carry one if rain looks unlikely. Either way, if they are taking your umbrella they will be keeping it to use later.

3) Trade shows are also a good opportunity to give out umbrellas. One I am attending next weekend is traditionally on a wet day. Being given an umbrella there would be useful for many people as they walk back to cars or stand around watching the outdoor events. Grab your public’s attention with umbrellas and you might just find potential customers.

4) If your business is in selling beach products then visit beaches during the summer and give out the umbrellas to the families you find on the beach. Especially on hot or breezy days, the recipients will be glad of the shade afforded to them by the umbrella, either from the sun or the wind.

5) Want to be seen to be supporting local charities? Well, look for events that are supporting them, such as runs, bike rides and walks. Go along, whatever the weather, and supply spectators, and in the case of walks participants, with your umbrellas.

And as I always say, once you have produced a stack of nice, shiny, new promotional umbrellas, do what you can to get them to your public. They are serving no purpose locked in your storeroom! If you see an excuse to give someone an umbrella, do so. They might just be so pleased with their present they buy from you, else they will hopefully parade your logo for other potential customers to see.
